Boys have always kissed boys. But now it is different. Among the young, same sex passionate kissing is very much accepted. It used to be that a same sex couple might be accepted to a point. But their activities would have been kept out of sight.
It is different now. I heard a story recently about a middle school girl who had a "girlfriend". The other school mates followed them around waiting on them to kiss. It is largely accepted now. The only resistance from that sort of thing is from the older generation.
Boys kissing boys is accepted now as being hot. Even better if it is twinks or emos kissing. That is the hottest ever.
